Let Us Be YOUR Guide
We love Beavers Bend as much as you guys do, and we really want to show you how special this place is. In this space, we would like to post any and everything that we can to give you a better look at what it is that makes Beavers Bend so special.
A very special group of ladies created this list a couple years ago. They were trying to give the best advice possible to other moms in the Dallas area, by creating a list of Summer Vacation Destinations. On this list, they made sure to keep these destinations within a drivable distance, and ranked all the way at the top was Broken Bow, and additionally they used a photo of our cabin, Cross Timbers. We could not be more proud that out all of the cabins in the area, they chose ours and to stay with us. We have included a link the article that was written (https://dallas.citymomsblog.com/6-summer-vacation-...) so that you guys can read it for yourself.
Cedar Creek Golf Course- for many, Cedar Creek is a must play golf destination. With it being surrounded by the beauty of Beavers Bend State Park, as well as sitting on Broken Bow Lake, it is a place often visited by those who don't even have interest in playing golf. Oklahoma is know for having ever changing weather, and exceptionally warm Winters giving Cedar Creek yet another advantage over its native cousins. It is possible to play year round, with the only thing holding anyone back being a little precipitation. This year we have had plenty of that, according to broken-bow-weather-december the average rainfall for November and December, is 4.5 and 4.1 inches respectively. That means we still have quite a bit of rain coming in without the higher temperatures to help evaporate the precipitation. Because of this, November, December, and January are typically the most likely months for the course to be flooded. The hole that is most effected by the rain is Hole 16, which is a beautiful and very challenging par 4 with a wide open fairway leading to a green that is essentially on an island. The challenge is quite a bit of fun, but when there is water covering most of the fairway this hole that was challenging becomes near impossible. In many cases, the water levels will cause 16 to be completely unplayable. Have no fear Broken Bow Lake is utilized for drinking water as well as energy production so most of the time the water levels will drop almost as fast as they rose. If the hole has to be closed, it is often open just days later, so if you are coming with the goal of paying Hole 16 at Cedar Creek, have no fear your chances are pretty high. Our videographer, Zach Wallis went to the course for us so that we could give our guests a first hand look at the state of the course with all of the rain. He went the day after a large rain to find 16 completely covered, and returned two days later to find the hole open once again. We hope that you come stay with us and take advantage of the warm Winter weather in Southeastern Oklahoma. If you do find your way to Cedar Creek don't forget to fill your ice chest with a tasty beverage from Beavers Bend Brewery to maximize your experience.
